CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE
Welcome to the 2026 NDCC yearbook.
Firstly I want to say a massive thank you
to Mark Ansell who after 14 year is taking
a break as Club Chairman. While I haven’t
been at the club as a member for very
long, I have worked alongside Mark with
my involvement at Westleigh CC and I
know how much effort he has put into the
club that he loves. Luckily Mark is staying
on as Club Treasurer and will still be scoring runs on a Saturday when he can play.
Having started as Chairman this winter, I am very much still learning the ropes so please bear
with me, but I have had incredible support from so many members and the committee who
really do put in so much work all year round. We are always looking to improve things at the
club where we can and by the time this yearbook has been printed, we will hopefully have
upgraded the road entrance into the club which will be very welcome!
We now have 4 teams in the ECB Devon League, a team in the North Devon League and 2
teams in the T20 leagues including a development side. We have the North Devon Tarka
Ladies in the Devon Women’s Cricket League and a growing junior starting from 5 year-olds in
the All Stars through the U19 teams. We hope to keep building on the playing side right across
the club, helping develop players to get the most out of their potential and providing enjoyable
cricket for players of all ages.
I would like to thank all of our sponsors for their financial support, without which we couldn’t
function properly as a club. We will be taking part with the Toyota Good For Cricket Prizedraw
again this year – whilst no-one at the club won any of the prizes, the tickets we sold, in addition
to the share of the pot from Toyota, paid for the new proper commercial fridges in the kitchen,
something we would have been unlikely to have been able to do without your support. So
please try your luck when they offer tickets again this year!
Finally, I would like wish Jack Moore as the mens Club Captain and Rose Ball as the ladies
Club Captain all the very best for the coming season, very best of luck to all teams across the
club and I look forward to meeting many more of you in the coming season.
Kind regards
Jamie Morris
