The 2025 3rd XI at their home ground, Westleigh
Third XI
Welcome all as the 2026 fast approaches. Hopefully by the time you get to read this the rain has
stopped and work on Instow and Westleigh can progress. 2025 was a mixed bag for the 3’s but the
highlights were some outstanding performances from our up and coming youngsters, some real talent
was shown consistently throughout the season. 2026 is going to be a first for NDCC with the
introduction of the 4th team into the league. This will give even more opportunities for members to
play league cricket on a Saturday and continue the brilliant work that has been done by Simon and all
the other people involved in the juniors set up.
For the 3’s this year we will be pushing hard for promotion to close the gap on the 2’s as players
progress up through the teams making the step up easier. Exciting times for NDCC with the return of
Ali Poll as 4th team captain and the Devon legend Steve Moore as 2’s captain this really is a big
year. So clear your diaries for Saturdays and make sure you’re part of this history making season.
Looking forward to seeing you all again for plenty of cricket, wins, beer and of course fun on the field.

Fourth XI
We are pleased to be entering a 4th Team into H Division East of the Devon Cricket League this
season. We are fortunate to be a Club with a growing number of playing members, and a very large
Junior section. The aim of the 4th Team is to give more people an opportunity to play league cricket
and to develop players from the Junior teams.
My emphasis, as Captain, will be to give players meaningful game experience, whether they are a
bowler or a batter. I hope my experience as a Level 2 ECB Coach, combined with my time working
with many of the junior players will help them to develop and enjoy their cricket.
The team will also offer the chance for some older players to return to the game, and for players who
may be struggling for form to find it in an environment with less pressure.
H Division East is a very ‘local’ league this year, with the following teams Bideford 3s, Barnstaple 3s,
Newton Tracey 2s, Cullompton 4s, Sandford 4s, Culmstock 2s, Bridestowe 3s
This will significantly reduce travel times and hopefully have less impact on the players & their
families! – Ali Poll
